General Business
(7) Resolution – granting approval to West Ascension Consolidated Gravity
Drainage District No. 1 of the Parish of Ascension to call and hold an
election on Saturday May 9, 2020 to authorize the renewal of the levy and
collection of a 5.33 mills ad valorem tax for a period of ten (10) years,
beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the
purpose of providing funds to maintain, construct and improve drainage
works within the territorial limits of the District; and further providing for other
matters in connection therewith
(8) Resolution – to grant approval to Fire Protection District No. 3 of the Parish
of Ascension to call and hold an election on Saturday May 9, 2020, to
authorize the renewal of the levy and collection of a ten (10) mills ad
valorem tax for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and
ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of development, acquisition,
construction, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment of the
District and paying the cost of providing fire protection services, including
salaries and all purposes incidental thereto and further providing for other
matters in connection therewith
(9) Resolution – ordering and calling a special election to be held in the Parish
of Ascension on Saturday May 9, 2020 for the purpose of authorizing the
renewal of a two (2) mill tax on assessed valuation of all property subject to
taxation in the Parish, for a ten (10) years for the purpose of maintaining
and supporting a mental health program
(10)Amendment #1 to Intergovernmental Agreement between the Ascension
Parish Council and Ascension Consolidated Utilities District #1 to exclude
the section titled “Obligation of Parties: ACUD#1 shall supplement the
salary of the Parish President in the amount of $1,000.00 per month to
serve as the day to day administrator of ACUD #1; this supplement shall
begin six months after the effective date of this agreement”
(11)Addendum #2 to Intergovernmental Agreement between the Ascension
Parish Council and the West Ascension Consolidated Gravity Drainage
District to exclude supplementing the the salary of the Parish President
(12)Amendment #3 to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the
Ascension Parish Council and East Ascension Consolidated Gravity
Drainage District #1 to exclude from Section 3, Obligations of the Parties:
“EACGDD further agrees that it will supplement the salary of the Parish
President at a rate of $2,000.00 per month”
(13)Resolution – authorizing Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment to sign
and execute all contracts, agreements, and legal documents as approved
by the Parish Council (Legal Counsel O’Neil Parenton)
(14)Renewal of Fiscal Agency Agreement with Hancock Whitney Bank to
include authorization name change (Legal Counsel O’Neil Parenton)
