MISSION STATEMENT The objective of the Ascension Parish Health Unit is to provide health care services and to promote the well being of the general public within the Parish of Ascension and its surrounding parishes. SERVICES PROVIDED:  | WIC Providing WIC services for low to moderate income families. WIC services consist of good nutrition for infants and children up to 5 years of age, pregnant women, post-partal women and breastfeeding mothers. |  | IMMUNIZATIONS $10.00 per visit Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Friday 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. |  | FAMILY PLANNING Provide yearly exams by appointment only for birth control which includes pap smears, breast exams and STD testing. We also offer depo shots. |   | SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES Exams and treatment provided as needed. We offer HIV rapid testing (results within 20 minutes), Syphilis testing, tests for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. |  | PREGNANCY TESTS $5.00 charge

Friday 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. |  | COMMODITIES Take applications to supply groceries provided by Louisiana Food Bank to low income families on a quarterly basis, the 2nd Wednesday of each quarter from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Sorrento Civic Center on the Airline Highway in Sorrento. The Ascension Parish Health Unit assists Food for Families in providing a contact number of 1-800-522-3333. |

- Churches who offer assistance for various needs
