*Effective July 1, 2011  the method of payment for building permits, copies of files, plan review, etc will be by Money Orders, Cashier Checks or Credit Cards only.  No personal checks or cash will be accepted.*

In 1993, the Ascension Parish Police Jury adopted an ordinance establishing building regulations in Ascension Parish.

The Building Department issues building and occupancy permits to move, build/construct,  remodel or renovate buildings and/or mobile homes in Ascension Parish.
Videos and informational packets, including forms, are available for the public from the Building Department.

ALL CONTRACTORS WHO DO WORK IN THE FOUR MAJOR CRAFTS MUST BE LICENSED BY THE  STATE OF LOUISIANA AND THE ASCENSION PARISH BUILDING DEPARTMENT
(The four major crafts are:  Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing)

 

Code Enforcement

The Ascension Parish Council adopted a junked car and white goods nuisance ordinance.  If you are looking to submit a complaint regarding a nuisance that you see in our parish (such as junked vehicles, outside white goods, etc.) please print out and send this form to the Planning and Development Department.  You may submit the form via one of the following methods:

  2. Fax to (225) 450-1352.
