Job DescriptionThe Code Enforcement Officer works under the supervision of the Code Enforcement Officer, Chief. The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for performing work involving inspection, regulation, and enforcement of codes and ordinances including nuisance abatement, property maintenance, housing, signs, and noise.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, or REGISTRATIONS:Required to obtain 1 certification from the International Code Council within 2 year from date of hire. A valid Louisiana State Driver’s License.
EDUCATIONAL and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or higher; 1 to 3 years of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employee should have excellent communication skills. Employee should have a knowledge of building codes and related ordinances and regulations.
