The mission of the Ascension Parish Animal Shelter is to perform services for the citizens of Ascension Parish, and to provide them with valuable information and resources concerning the increasing number of animals that are now within Ascension Parish.

Purpose:

To relieve the Ascension Parish citizens from their concerns of the roaming, nuisance, vicious, neglected, and abused animals.

Mon- Thur: 8:00am to 5:30pm Mon-Thur: 1:00pm to 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am to 12:00pm No viewing on Fridays

Mon-Thur: 8:00am to 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am to 11:00am

**Please note that if you are a member of a similar organization where pet supplies can be donated, please let us know.**

Adoption Hours & Fees:

Adoption Hours are Monday thru Thursday 1:00pm to 4:30pm and the Adoption Fee is $50.00. This includes a voucher to have the animal spayed or neutered by a contracted vet. This does not include vaccinations or health checks. You will bring your new pet home the same day upon approval of the adoption application.

Animal Drop Off Times & Fees:

Drop off Hours: Monday thru Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm Friday 8:00 am – 11:00am

Owner Surrender Fees: Ascension Parish residents: $10.00 per adult $15.00 per litter

Out of Parish residents: $30.00 per adult and $15.00 per litter includes strays

Lost Pet Information:

If your pet is lost it is our policy that you come into the shelter to see if your animal has been impounded. If your animal is not at the shelter then the shelter will do a courtesy Lost Ticket that will be held for 30 days so that shelter staff can keep an eye out for your animal. Hours to view for your lost pet: Monday thru Thursday 11:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am to 11:00am.
